It’s a nice place. Yay for that. Something happened to my glasses last month so I called to have them covered and replaced under warranty. After waiting on hold for a spell, I find out that warranty expired the month prior. Go figure. When I asked about discounts, since they were a little pricey, and I did not use the warranty that was obviously paid for and never used, I got told that they don’t over discounts. When asked for the price of a new pair, same exact pair, it was double what they cost when I first got them a year ago!!! This place is very greedy. I know what my insurance paid, and what I paid. But now I’m in between coverages, and I feel like they want to take advantage and steal as much as they can!! We won’t be going back. Also, if the business is going to give the SAME of two common replies, don’t bother. It’s very un-personable.
I’ve been going to this place since it was first established never any trouble. I go in recently appointment and my doctor went great . It’s the glasses section that need help. Firstly the girl that helped me first impression was disengaged but not a big deal I like to look on my own. I select 2 glasses because I never just buy 1. The lady that helps me goes and checks on my insurance for 30 mins to quote me what I thought was both glasses. She lets me know the total and it’s around the same I pay for 2 glasses I’m not shown a breakdown receipt so I assume we understood. 3 weeks later I pick up my glasses and there is only one the girl that helps me that day says if I get the second pair it will be $600since I already used my insurance I told her that’s not right she makes me wait another 20 mins to check insurance comes back and says sorry that’s what it is would you like me to order them ? No I reply and I leave get down the street and get a call she then tells me I’m sorry you do get a second pair I told her I know. She offered to have the girl who originally helped me call me when she got in thenShe then wanted to place the order I told her no. I hung up because at this point I’m pissed because when I was face to face in the building I was made to feel as though I don’t know my insurance who’s insurance is it ? I then called later that day to talk to the same girl that helped me originally pick glasses I told to the old man that’s been there forever he says she’s not there which was contradictory what a was previously told but I let it go .He said he would give her the message to call me on monday. Monday comes around no call so I call on my break the phone call is 30 mins long just to have her say there was a miscommunication how? 30 mins talking to a manger and we still don’t order correctly ? She quoted me what it would be to order them and they are more than my first pair and the second pair with my insurance is supposed to be cheaper also both glasses selected are the same price. Riddle me how the second ones would be more ? So here we are total of 80mins just checking my insurance and 3 weeks and I’m stuck with my second choice of glasses since I didn’t get to pick them out. Not once did any optical manager bother to call me instead of having me wait to talk in circles nor come out to clear anything. I’m fed up trying to explain my insurance to people that do this daily. Thanks for all the wasted time.
The visit was quick. The Dr. wait quick. Exam quick. Dr. explained everything, she was nice. HOWEVER, I called to order contacts for my daughter and for 3 days now I've been put on hold and "messages" have been taken. Still no contacts ordered. They keep saying they are busy or have one person working only. Finally 3 days later and after being on hold for 32mintes, someone picks the phone up to tell me "please wait" for the 3rd time. I said no ma'am, I can not. I explained what I needed and she said "we are very busy". I then said, can I just have my prescription and I can order them somewhere else, she quickly replied "what is your email address ". Four of our family members went for glasses and contacts, I guarantee you 100% we will NOT be returning nor recommend this place!! I wish I had read reviews before making our appointments there .
Worst place ever. Got recommended this place for 3 YEAR OLD, and the assistant that was doing the test was unprofessional. She had no patience for a toddler, my daughter was noticing the shapes and colors and laughed at the images, and was told that if she didn’t contribute they had to cancel that appointment even if we were there already. She was so rude, and felt tough talking mean to a 3 year old. Do not recommend this place at all.
Vision Health Specialties didn't make finding an eye doctor in this town easier on us. It's a big place. Clean, modern, and the staff are nice enough. That's where the 2 stars come from.
We still had to pay a few hundred over insurance. They wouldn't show my husband which frames were completely covered by insurance. My husband got annoyed when even after telling them we just wanted one additional feature (anti-scratch lenses) the person handling their order acted like a pushy salesperson trying to get him to tack on more 'options'. In addition, we were told between 7-10 days was when the new ones would come in. 3 weeks later, I hadn't heard from them. I had to call them, only to find they were sitting there in the office waiting. Then she tried to tell me my wait was because my son needed 'special' glasses. We won't be going back.
The people are very friendly,very passionate,very helpful & very considerate of everyone. I really like this eye dr. I would recommend them to anyone. U won't b disappointed or being like u were disrespected either.
Doctors are wonderful, but I highly recommend a small call center. Communication is extremely important. I was on hold after 4 different phone calls yesterday for a total of 3 and a half hours. Unfortunately I'm not a local, I can't just drive there to get an update. Other than that things are great, but it is very frustrating to be on hold for so many hours & not even get anywhere.
My visit was great. Everyone was friendly, they have a great selection of frames, the exam seemed to be very thorough, the optometrist was a nice guy, and on time. The glasses fit well when I got them and I can see better. All the boxes checked. Oh, and the 1 year warranty is pretty exceptional.
